Posted by Carmen on Aug 1, '08 3:17 PM for everyone Have you ever watched a movie and only get to realize the ‘real meaning’ after the second time watching it? I grew up watching lotsa cartoons and musicals. Walt Disney's productions happen to be one of my favourites. Movies like Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, Peter Pan, All Dogs go to heaven.....and many many more were my companion back when I was a little girl. All the singing and dancing, the act of heroism and the most evil act of devil-ism, caught my attention. But I did not really understand all the words back then. It was merely singing some of the tunes, getting some of the words right, and made up something that sounds alike. Guess what, that bought me through many years of contentment and self satisfaction. I supposed my self-ego was pretty strong huh. And I just came to realized that ( few years ago while attending French lesson ), in the opening scene of Beauty & the Beast, while Belle was dancing her way into the village and started greeting everyone, she was actually saying “Bonjour,Bonjour,Bonjour”. What an idiot I was back then. I was singing words like Bonjo, Vonjor,…..etc. Ha~ stupid stupid stupid. You definitely don’t want to know what I made up for the other songs like little mermaid, or Cinderella, for those of you who knows me well, you know how ‘creative’ I can be at times rite~?.Hahaha Anyway, just the other day, I was watching this movie call “After Sunset” and I was again struck by it. I am totally impressed by the way the director shot the movie. The simple yet every-day life lines the scriptwriter has written. Both the actor and actress did a wonderful job in portraying the characters that once fell in love and separated for some years and finally reunited once again in Paris . First time watching this movie, I was in my 2nd / 3rd year while in university. If I’m not mistaken, I was quite impressed by the story too. But this time around watching it, I felt and noticed something different. I studied more on the characters. I felt for them. And I anticipated for the questions that they were about to ask each other. The gestures, the response, the body language, expressions on their faces, they made me felt for them. After that, I had this strong urge of going to US to study and learn more about movie. Another movie that I finally understand it after watching it twice is “Great Expectations”. The characters in both movies have very strong characteristics. The later one had more plots, but both Ethan and Gwyneth did a fantastic job; especially when both actors communicate with their eyes. Expression speaks more than word. Don’t let your eyes betray you. Try having a same dream twice, and look that person in the eye again. And you’ll realise what it really meant the other time when you were looking straight at it but your mind aint getting it. It’s strange and it’s also funny but you’ll be surprised every time you see something twice all you’ll get is different response. You look but you don’t see You hear but you don’t listen You are here but you’re also not here So step back and look at it again You might find that What you saw What you listened And everything else Isn’t the way it ought to be. Somehow, I and a few others had been traveling through lights and landed on a housing area. The houses there were pretty similar in design, but one thing very peculiar about it is that, the houses are all surrounded by glass. Meaning to say, when you’re looking at the house from a bird’s eye view, the houses are actually being built in a glass jar. It’s like one of those glass balls that we often see at souvenir shop which has a tag saying “Nice to see, fragile to hold, once broken consider sold.” The glass which is covering the house is not in a bottle shaped; instead it’s being structured accordingly to the shape of the house. When I turned and looked around, I told myself that the glass has its own purpose; it’s like a shield protecting the house or something rather similar to that. And my inner sense told me that something is not right about the town. As we entered one house and shut the door behind us, everyone talked very little and I supposed everyone sensed there’s something evil coming towards us. I went upstairs and saw my younger cousin in the bedroom with her friends, quickly usher them downstairs to the living room where the rest are all gathering. Not knowing what was happening, but feeling something bad is about to happen, we quickly put the young ones to sleep and started discussing about the matter. We started of with our arrival at that town. The houses were built in a very organized manner, with glass covering it. There aren’t any cars by the driveway and there are two rows of trees planted outside each house. The whole place seems to be deserted, not a single sole is on sight. The whole set kind of reminds me of a scene taken from the movie “Next” by Nicolas Cage. After a few moments, a few of us decided to venture out the house to gather some information. Everyone has chosen their own direction, as soon as we opened the door; we each headed off for our own path. I ventured out and ended up in a small town. I walked past many shops but they are all closed. I started to wonder where everyone in this town is. I look into one shop, there aren’t any spider webs or thick dust on the door or window, but you could tell that everyone just left in a hurry without bringing anything, and they had just left recently.
Time is getting late, and the weather has started to change; seems like a thunder storm is coming my way. As soon as the thought is over, the rain started to pour. I saw a light up the road, and I kind of knew it was a CD shop and I knew someone in there is going to help and tell me something. I hurried myself up the road and went into the shop. As I step into the shop, a clear chime of the door bell was heard, followed by the cracking sound made by an old wooden plank. There are plenty of vinyl records by the racks but they looked as if no one has flip through them in a very long time. The shop has a few dim lights on, and the vinyl player is playing some urban music which creates a really old and secluded kind of environment. A guy that looks like Adrian Grenier was sitting by the counter. I asked him what happened to this town. He said something evil has been cast over the town. Every living thing had vanished in one single night; they had been taken to another place unknown by men, he was the few lucky ones who had escaped the raid. I listened to his story in disbelief.
The player’s pin head skips out of place and the music stops. The shopkeeper looks at the clock and tells me that it’s about time that we leave the place and he has something to show me. The rain has stopped for quite sometime now but the sky is getting even darker now. There were not many street lights and the moonlight isn’t helping much. I had no idea where I was going, I just followed him. We walked past back lanes and in between tall buildings and came to a halt when we reach somewhere that looks rather like a dead end to me. He moved a bicycle which was being parked by the side of the building and a classic roller shutter elevator appear right in front of the brick building. We enter the elevator and he pulls down the roller shutter. Without pressing any button the lift ascended. The elevator was rather large in size; it could hold approximately 40 to 60 people standing back to back. The elevator was ascending in a rather fast speed and it just stop suddenly. A small iron door is to be seen at the lower left corner. The shopkeeper bends down to open the door. I was standing a few feet away from the small door as I didn’t know what to expect from it. Nothing was to be seen from the outside because it was pitch-black from the inside of the door. The shopkeeper then takes out an iron jack from his backpack and reach inside the door. It seems like he is trying to hook out something that has gone out of place, and he definitely looks like he knows what he is doing. After a few attempts, suddenly he pulls out something. A black crow covered with wax. I was shocked to see such a thing. I had never seen such a thing in my life before. The shopkeeper breaks open the wax at the head part and demanded the crow to talk. The shopkeeper now known as Matthew then tells me that he found the crow sometime ago by a shop selling human’s information to the so called invader. The crow was reluctant to speak but Matthew threatens to kill it. So, the crow started to speak and tell tales of the dark forces. Soon, I come to understand that one fine day, a dark force has arrived at that very own town, and humans who were on sight were taken away. Some got killed while some were kept imprisoned. A few others survived but are living in reserved. The spell is to be broken by someone at the time when there’s full moon by night fall but…, before the crow could finish the last part suddenly the crow started to melt, and something flew into the room. It was one of the dark forces which appear like the dementor from Harry Potter, it struck Matthew’s arm with the iron jack and Matthew yells in pain. Matthew cried for me to leave, and a metal door appears right in front of my eye, I hesitated but as Matthew screams for me to leave again, the dark force turns and look at me. I quickly open the door and shut it behind me, and ran all the way down with all the strength I’ve got. I heard some noises chasing behind me, I looked up and saw dark shadows running down, it was then I lost my foot steps and tripped myself over my own feet. Those dwarf a-like creature were short but they are traveling in a swift speed. I manage to get up and run for my life again. At the end of the stairs I came to a hallway with long curtains and velvet carpet being laid on the ground. It was a long hallway, and it leads to the balcony. I made my way out to the balcony to realize I was somewhere near the beach. As I was catching my breathe, I heard the noises coming again. I quickly proceed to hide behind the long curtains hoping that they won’t see me. At that instance I also started chanting magic words of disappearing. I did not know whether it will work or not, but I think I knew something magical was happening. Just then, the dwarf liked creatures are already standing right in front of me. They looked exactly like the goblins from spider wick chronicles and they are speaking in an unearthly language. I managed to make out what they were saying. “One human who was on pursuit got lost, it was weird that a human could out run them and disappear without a sign. The human must have run towards the ocean. Past the message to the rest who are posting by the beach. The King wants to capture this one alive.“ I was shocked to realize that I’m now on the wanted list, and started to worry about the kids who are at home. I knew something has to be done and first of all, I need to get myself out of there. While the invisible spell is still on, I climbed down the wall and scrambled through the beach. Guards were everywhere. I told myself to be extra careful not to make any wrong moves, nor to walk past those small trees or my cover will be blow easily. It took me sometime to get near to the water. There were no guards by the water; and the last guard that I saw was standing 30 feet away from the coast line, I supposed they were afraid of sea water. I continued traveling in caution until it was total silence and everything around me was quiet and empty again. I came out from an alley and could see ray of lights from the horizon. I was all by myself again in the empty city. At that point, I realize it’s a new day again and what set a head of me will be a breathtaking mystery to solve and a very powerful dark force to deal with. What I encountered last night was truly an unforgettable adventure. I definitely felt bad for leaving Matthew behind; I wonder what will happen to him.Posted by Carmen on Jul 8, '08 10:21 AM for everyone A carrot, an egg, and a cup of coffee... You will never look at a cup of coffee the same way again. A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up. She was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed as one problem was solved, a new one arose.
Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire. Soon the pots came to boil. In the first she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs, and in the last she placed ground coffee beans. She let them sit and boil, without saying a word.
In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a bowl.
Turning to her daughter, she asked, 'Tell me what you see?'
'Carrots, eggs, and coffee,' she replied.
Her mother brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She did and noted that they were soft. The mother then asked the daughter to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard boiled egg. Finally, the mother asked the daughter to sip the coffee.
The daughter smiled as she tasted its rich aroma. The daughter then asked, 'What does it mean, mother?'
Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity: boiling water. Each reacted differently. The carrot went in strong, hard, and unrelenting. However, after being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and became weak. The egg had been fragile. Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior, but after sitting through the boiling water, its inside became hardened.
The ground coffee beans were unique, however. After they were in the boiling water, they had changed the water.
'Which are you?' she asked her daughter. 'When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?
Think of this: Which am I? Am I the carrot that seems strong, but with pain and adversity do I wilt and become soft and lose my strength?
Am I the egg that starts with a malleable heart, but changes with the heat?Did I have a fluid spirit, but after a death, a breakup, a financial hardship or some other trial, have I become hardened and stiff? Does my shell look the same, but on the inside am I bitter and tough with a stiff spirit and hardened heart?
Or am I like the coffee bean? The bean actually changes the hot water, the very circumstance that brings the pain. When the water gets hot, it releases the fragrance and flavor. If you are like the bean, when things are at their worst, you get better and change the situation around you.
When the hour is the darkest and trials! are their greatest, do you elevate yourself to another level? How do you handle adversity? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?
May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human and enough hope to make you happy. The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way. The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past; you can't go forward in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches . When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying. -courtesy of ryosuke7 -

I would like to share a real life story of a friend.
This incident happened on today evening (1 April 2008). I went to the PJ State (Also known as PJ New Town) Maybank to withdraw RM500. Unfortunately for me, only 9 RM50 notes came out instead of 10. What happened was, one of the RM50 notes was folded exactly in half and placed at a corner of the stack (Please refer to the attached pictures showing how two RM50 notes can be counted as three).
I was so upset because I have no proof that the ATM did not give me the correct amount. After much hesitation, I finally decided to call Maybank to complain about the incident knowing that I may not get back my money. But at least I can caution them of such incident. When I told of my situation to the Maybank Customer Service Representative, to my surprise, I was informed that I'm not the first victim. It seems that similar cases have occurred before. The lady explained that it is the malfunction of the ATM and the money may accidentally get folded in half. However when questioned, she was unable to explain to me why the money can be folded exactly in half and placed nicely in the corner of the stack. I believe this is the new technique of cheating money, done by the people who are responsible of placing the money into the ATMs. In the stack of money which is to be placed into the ATM, one RM50 note is folded nicely in half, for every one note taken out of the stack of money. The folded RM50 notes are then placed at the edge of the stack and positioned in the ATM where the money would be counted. With that done, every one folded note would be counted by the machine as two notes.
I may be wrong about how and why it happened, but I would like to warn everyone about this incident. Please be careful when withdrawing money from the ATM (it may happen to other banks as well) and do count your money to be sure. If such an incident really happened to you (*touch wood*), please do call up the bank to complain about this. If everyone keeps quiet about this, the bank may be unaware of such incidents and the people responsible may just continue doing what they do without getting caught! Even if it is actually because of the ATM malfunctioning, the bank should know about this and there is also a chance of you getting your money back. Regards, Jean
Posted by Carmen on Apr 6, '08 12:35 PM for everyone Something triggers me to write this down. I was watching One tree hill season 5 episode 11 & 12 moments ago. And tears keeps pouring down, haven’t have this kinda feeling for quite some time, I don't know what triggers it, the acting or the music. Peyton - dying to get back with Lucas but has to send her blessings for his wedding. Hailie - loves Nathan but couldn't accept infidelity. Nathan - dying to get back with Hailie Lucas - What's wrong with him?Peyton or Lindsay? You're marrying Lindsay but you're writing a book on Peyton? I love these parts best. It's cruel but it's great. -By the door,(Nathan's house)Hailie opens the door to see Nathan and Lucas there. And awkwardly, Nathan says Hi. -I seriously don’t like the part where Nathan apologises to Hailie and Hailie turns him down. The look on Nathan’s face reminds me of someone. - Nathan with Jamie in the bedroom having some father and son time while Hailie is standing outside the room overhearing the whole conversation.Poor Nathan and Jamie. -Skills and the gang hanging out by the car right outside the church. “You know I love you P.Sawyer rite, but baby girl you are so far from ok~,man you aint even from the same area code.” As he finishes his line, check out the look on Peyton’s face-So disappointing and heartbreaking. -In the church, Peyton "imagining" that she stood up and pour out her feelings for Lucas. I know it’s stupid to feel like this over a drama. Come on~…I admit it..it’s EPIC LOVE DRAMA ok, it’s OK to shed a few tears. That is what the director wants ok, tears~.. Some beautiful quotes that I would like to share with yall; “Don’t give up on it, and if you don’t get it, you might get something better.” - Karen “If there’s no breaking, there’s no healing, and if there’s no healing, there’s no learning. And if there’s no learning, then there’s no struggle.” – Lucas Posted by Carmen on Mar 7, '08 3:56 AM for everyone Dear all, Once again, Imperial Education Counselling is back with it's annual Education Fair. Indeed,it is a great moment not to be missed. A snake being torn up by a huge colony of ants. I quickly parked the car by the side and jump off to grab my camera. I think it's really a tragic way to die like this.>fire ants bite~ Have you been bitten by a fire ant before? Lemme tell you,it's freakingly painful. You'll actually jump off the ground when the ant take it's first bite onto your skin.As you shake your hand in pain, the ant will not let go for your tasty skin,it will cling on to it. Then your skin will immediately turn red,and you'll feel the itch and pain rite away, you'll start scratching the spot vigorously.Within seconds,a red n heaty bump will appear. Then, you'll start crying for mama. From james blunt to backstreet boys to all 4 one to carpenters to beatles to patti page....etc... As the number in the age increases...the anxiety towards chinese new year has lessen throughout the years. It's no longer a "hot shot" celebration, instead it's more like a time where friends and family gather up,sharing and updating gossips. i didn't join the countdown crowd this year,cz i was fast asleep after i wrote this blog.I think i was OUT at 23:50.Too tired perhaps. I put myself to bed after a glass of red wine and a glass of bailey's. Good night sleep.
Posted by Carmen on Feb 2, '08 12:26 PM for everyone Been cooking alot lately.Don't ask me why,i just felt like COOKING.
So...what's for dinner tonite? Let see...hmmm...i made grilled chicken served with mashed potatoes and fresh salad. And it taste good. My bro (the great chef) gave me a 8 over 10.And i'm happy enough to get a score above 7.
Grandma and grandpa "wallup" 80% of the salad. With Mayonnaise and mustard. Bro took 60% of the mashed potatoes. And everyone had an even slice of chicken.I think that's not enough,i might need to increase the portion next time. The chicken taste just as good, with or without the gravy.
Preparation time : 1 hour Cooking time : 30 minutes Eating time : 15 minutes Food served : Grilled chicken + Salad + Mashed potato + vege soup Food left : 0 %
I think it's pretty cool and healthy to have this kinda food every once in a while, instead of just rice riCe RICE~!! Mashed potato replacing the rice, fresh salad replacing the fried vege.
Instead of having chinese everyday,it's good to have some western, italian, arabic, brazilian food every now and then. It's something refreshing and it keeps the cook creative. And of course,it keeps the taste bud adventurous and more exposed.
A quote from my bro, " When the east meet west, where did north and south go?"

You guys rowcks Posted by Carmen on Nov 29, '07 12:41 AM for everyone Thank You For Your Time
A young man learns what's most important in life from the guy next door.
It had been some time since Jack had seen the old man. College, girls, career, and life itself got in the way. In fact, Jack moved clear across the country in pursuit of his dreams. There, in the rush of his busy life, Jack had little time to think about the past and often no time to spend with his wife and son. He was working on his future, and nothing could stop him.
Over the phone, his mother told him, "Mr. Belser died last ! night. The funeral is Wednesday." Memories flashed through his mind like an old newsreel as he sat quietly remembering his childhood days.
"Jack, did you hear me?"
"Oh, sorry, Mom. Yes, I heard you. It's been so long since I thought of him. I'm sorry, but I honestly thought he died years ago," Jack said.
"Well, he didn't forget you. Every time I saw him he'd ask how you were doing. He'd reminisce about the many da! ys you spent over 'his side of the fence' as he put it," Mom told him.
"I loved that old house he lived in," Jack said.
"You know, Jack, after your father! died, Mr. Belser stepped in to make sure you had a man's influence in your life," she said
"He's the one who taught me carpentry," he said. "I wouldn't be in this business if it weren't for him. He spent a lot of time teaching me things he thought were important...Mom, I'll be there for the funeral," Jack said.
As busy as he was, he kept his word. Jack caught the next flight to his hometown. Mr. Belser's funeral was small and uneventful. He had no children of his own, and most of his relatives had passed away.
The nigh! t before he had to return home, Jack and his Mom stopped by to see the old house next door one more time. Standing in the doorway, Jack paused for a moment. It was like crossing over into another dimension, a leap through space and time The house was exactly as he remembered. Every step held memories. Every picture, every piece of furniture....Jack stopped suddenly.
"What's wrong, Jack?" his Mom asked. "The box is gone," he said
"What box?" Mom asked.
"There was a small gold box th! at he kept locked on top of his desk. I must have asked him a thousand times what was inside. All he'd ever tell me was 'the thing I value most,'" Jack said.
It was gone. Everything about the house was exactly how Jack remembered it, except for the box. He figured someone from the Belser family had taken it.
"Now I' ll never know what was so valuable to him," Jack said. "I better get some sleep! . I have an early flight home, Mom."
It had been about two weeks since Mr. Belser died Returning home from work one day Jack discovered a note in his mailbox. "Signature required on a package. No one at home. Please stop by the main post office within the next three days," the note read.
Early the next day Jack retrieved the package. The small box was old and looked like it had been mailed a hundred years ago. The handwriting! was difficult to read, but the return address caught his attention. "Mr Harold Belser" it read. Jack took the box out to his car and ripped open the package. There inside was the gold box and an envelope. Jack's hands shook as he read the note inside.
"Upon my death, please forward this box and its contents to Jack Bennett. It's the thing I valued most in my life" A small key was taped! to the letter. His heart racing, as tears filling his eyes, Jack carefully unlocked the box. There inside he found a beautiful gold pocket watch.
Running his fingers slowly over the finely etched casing, he unlatched the cover. Inside he found these words engraved:
"Jack, Thanks for your time! -Harold Belser."
"The thing he valued most was...my ! time"
Jack held the watch for a few minutes, then called his office and cleared his appointments for the next two days "Why?" Janet, his assistant asked.
"I need some time to spend with my son," he said.
"Oh, by the way, Janet, thanks for your time!"
"Life is not measured by! the num ber of breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away," Think about this. You may not realize it, but it's 100% true.

Be thankful Posted by Carmen on Nov 9, '07 3:38 AM for everyone here i am..sitting in a cybercafe in Sg.Wang (Kuala Lumpur) I don't know whether it's a trend or it's already a trademark that everyone come to cybercafe to play online games.I have no issue with that, but it's the environment which i don't like. I am "forced" to use the cybercafe cause i still don't have my own laptop, and i have some urgent stuff that requires me to use the internet. Of course i chose an open concept cybercafe cause i don't want to be in the papers. I was seated next to the counter, with a "No Smoking" sign rite in front of me.So i thought i was pretty smart to have chosen a NON SMOKING cybercafe. But I WAS WRONG.SO WRONG. 10minutes later, a groupd of kids of 15-17 years of age came in.(Boys n Girls). What for? Play Games..!--that's ok. what else.... Smoke. And i was like~.....Shit~..Air polution. Then 10minutes later, another group of poeple came in.-Shopkeeper's friend. I overheard their conversation and here goes... "How much are you going to buy?" "How much left?" "How many are you buying?" "What's Cheong buying? How many he bought?" "Earn how much?" "Good ar?Reliable?" Well...it definitely sound like shares to me..or some other product that they are buying in for their "company". After like 15minutes later, only i realised they are buying "Weapons" online. For their games. And i was like OMG,because swear to god, their conversation was so freaking serious.Who would have thought of that~?! Just as i was trying to understand what strategy they are using... "$%^&*(_" " cxxxx" " txx xx x mx " *&(&(%*_#(*%%#% and more of the 4 / 5 letters foul words came from the back.It was that bunch of kids. OMG,what's wrong with these kids? I think i am the only one who felt offended by those words cz the rest of the users have no reaction at all.I really hated it when they say those words as if those are very elegant words.Damn~...what's wrong with this teens?? Shit~...Sound polution. Advice : Don't use Cybercafe. I miss blogging. Been busy for quite sometime. Although I have been sitting in front of the computer everyday ,from day till night. But i don't quite seem to be able to get the time to go blogging or chatting. There has been so much work that kept me occupied. Yeah..I would say that it's tiring, but it's definitely satisfying and enjoyable.YES~!! I'm a workaholic.I enjoy working my ass off.
Been working with different people from different fileds and different levels lately. I learnt alot. In terms of professional ethics, experience, business strategy and etc. I would say that..it's a nasty nasty world out here. People aint that naive, people aint that sincere. It's all about money, fame, advantages.
A 9 year old wrote : " My ambition is to become a doctor. Being a doctor, I would be able to help those who are sick and suffering from illness. It's great to see them recovering from illness and be happy and healthy again." Infact in real life : being a doctor is no longer due to the reason they love helping the sick. Doctors no longer love their patients. Why? Because they are sick and numb seeing patients everyday. But the pay is good and the name Doctor is glamorous.Come and think about it,which job do you get people calling you by you profession? Dr...you can even put it as Dr. John Smith when you fill up a form.
A 9 year old wrote : " My ambition is to become a teacher. I like to teach and educate kids." But now, teacher no longer loves to educate. They became teacher because, by being a teacher, they only need to be in the school from 7:30am - 2pm.They might only have 3 - 4 periods a day. They leave home after school and get to spend time with thier kids & family. They have the most holidays compared to any other profession. If one's hardworking, one can even give tuition classes, which infact is a very good side income.
A 9 year old wrote : " I wanna be a businessman. I want to make lots & lotsa money. Then when i have enough money, i would like to donate money to the charity to help those in need" Well, becoming a businessman yeah...sounds great. But soon, one will take what ever it takes to get his/her hands on a project. They don't really care if it's right or wrong anymore, as long as at the end of the day, they get the money...that's it. Good Business~.Picture this~(During a press conference) 2 happy large scale businessman, shaking hands, exchanging agreement. They got themselves a deal.An understanding. But the question is...HOW DID IT ALL HAPPEN?
Doctor Vs Patient senario : Sick patient seek for medical assistance.
Patient : Doctor, I am sick. Doctor : What's wrong with you. Patient : headache,cough,flu.... Doctor : Got money to pay? Patient : I don't have the money now,but can i pay you later? Doctor : Sorry ..no free service. NEXT~ (calling for next patient)
Teacher Vs Student senario : teacher teaching in a classroom
Teacher : Ok class.. Brownian motion is either the random movement of particles suspended in a fluid.....uderstand? Student : Er~...teacher......why...... Teacher : You don't understand? Go read it yourself. If not,you can come to my tuition class.Available every Monday and Tuesday from 7-830pm at (-address-) -continue teaching-
Businessman Vs Worker senario : in a warehouse
Worker : Boss, the chipset that we are going to export later ,i found 100pcs malfunctioning. Boss : It's ok, don't worry. You just distribute them evenly to other boxes.People wouldnt know. Worker : But boss... Boss : What~?! Who's the boss now? You or me? So there goes,in everybox, you'll get a malfunction piece.Don't be the "lucky" buyer.
Why did this happen to our society? Izzit because everyone just wanna get rich? Nobody care anymore. The greatest ambition ever wrote when you were young, the achievement that you'd dreamt of, the utmost vision...<yada yada yada> well~..that were all lies and stupidity. That will never work in the real world.
When something goes wrong, everyone seem to be pointing fingers at each other and wouldn't want to take the blame. Less work, less responsibility.ATTITUDE~
"My boss only pay me 2.5k, so why work so hard.I work for 1.8k ok d la." "My office hour is 9am - 5pm.So i come in at 9 sharp and i leave at 5 sharp la.Why stay?Boss wouldnt give me extra money either. No gain no pain." "So many extra stationaries in the office, nobody would know if i take a rim of A4 paper back home."
What's wrong with us? Selfish minded, self centered I would say...we've been CONTAMINATED !! Posted by Carmen on Jul 7, '07 12:58 AM for everyone Day before yesterday, I watched a talk show program on Astro. The moment I was channel surfing, the program has started half way through. They were discussing about “Domestic help in Malaysia.” Somehow it reminds me of a radio program I heard months ago. They were also discussing about Domestic help in Malaysia.
Most of the Malaysian families, they will either hire an Indonesian or a Pilipino. Of course the wages differs for both nationality, and it depends on their capability. But today, I’m not going to discuss about their nationality or background. I’m just gonna share some thoughts. <Talk show> A lady caller tells that “It’s good to have a helper around in the house, with RM350 a month; she could help to clean, to cook, to take care of my kids. And I would be able to go to work and spend time with my family after work. I don’t have to do the cooking or the dishes. I really appreciate her help. Without her, I think I would have a big problem handling my family.” <Radio DJ> Do you realise the importance of “kakak” now-a-days. Almost in every household, there’s a kakak. “kakak, help me do this, kakak help me do that”(kid) “ kakak where’s my bag, kakak where’s my shoe?”(kid) “ kakak this and kakak that .” (kid) “I don’t know,go ask your kakak?” (Parent) As you can see here, Kakak has played an important part in most of the families. They are the cook, the butler, the nanny, the gardener and sometimes the tutor. So…where’s the mommy? Well, since there’s a Kakak, most of the Mummies are back in the society. Either venturing themselves back into the working society or have founded their “Mummy’s organisation”. Wondering what Mummy’s organisation do? They’ll gather early in the morning for some exercise. Either Yoga classes, line-dance, tai-chi or jogs. After that, they will go to the market to do marketing together, bargain bargain and more bargains. After the hectic mouth exercise, they’ll gather around some happening coffee shop or hawker centre for breakfast and more extreme mouth exercise >> gossip. The channel range from the northern part to the southern part of the state, from 3000 B.C till 2007,from Earth to Pluto, who ever comes their way >> trouble + trouble + more trouble. After hours of conferencing, they will head home to past on the groceries. Mummies will meet again after lunch for high tea anf for more gossip. More diversified topics:How they educate their kids, how they treat their husband, how they take care of their body, what slimming or aging products they are consuming, how well trained their maids are….yada yada yada So…what happened to the kids after school? Well, the school bus will take them home. The kakak will feed them lunch. The kids will hitch a ride with the neighbours to go for tuition classes. Otherwise, they will stay home to play with their PS mummy and daddy brought to keep them occupied. What about home work? Well, it’s either DIY or the next day in school, “I dunno where my kakak keeps my book”. Brilliant huh~! Now they have a new excuse. Not the old excuse we use, ”O~ the dog tore my book into pieces.” Or “I forgot” At night, when mummy and daddy return home, they bring every one out for dinner. Mummy’s happy because kakak did all the house work and took care of the kids. Daddy’s happy cause he thought mummy did all the house work and took care of the kids, yet mummy is still young and sexy. Kid’s happy because mummy and daddy is not at home. They get what ever they asked for. Kakak is happy too, cause the ibu and bapa is not at home. She can sits by the telephone all day, or start searching your house for valuables. Or have a robbery plan out for “Syaitan Empat”. One Big Happy Family isn’t it? <to be continue> Vocabulary: * kakak is a term we Malaysian use to acknowledge the helper in the house. * Kakak means sister in Bahasa Malaysia. * Ibu means mother in Bahasa Malaysia. * Bapa means father in Bahasa Malaysia. * Syaitan Empat means Four Foreign Robbers coming into your house with parangs and knife,ROBBING you. Of course the “master mind” will be tied up too during the process of robbery.
